Occipital Yoga Head for Neck Stiffness, Headaches Pain, Vertigo, and Tinnitus Problems

I want to show you a great yoga occipital stretch exercise. We're going to do this on both sides. This is going to open up the space underneath the occipital region. It’s going to free-up mobility, reduce nerve irritation problem, and hopefully allow you to feel so much better by reducing those symptoms that could be coming from the occipital region.

First of all, we need to sustain good posture, stand straight, and put your ears over your shoulders, your chest out in front of you. Next step, take your right hand, put it between your shoulder blades. Take your left hand and with your fingers, you're going to grab underneath the occipital region, the occipital region is right underneath the skull. So your right hand is reaching as far back as I can between the shoulder blades and your left hand is grabbing underneath the base of the occipital. And what are we going to do is just want you to pull up on the head. While sustain good posture, you'll feel that nice stretch underneath the base of the occipital area.

Now I want you to take your head and turn it towards the left armpit and I want you to continue to pull up.

Now I want you to take your chin and put it down into the left armpit as you continue to pull upwards. Just hold it and keep pulling upwards as your chin is into the left armpit. You'll feel that nice stretch along that base of the skull more on the right side.

Now we'll work the opposite side, we'll take our left hand grab between the shoulder blades bar down as you can. Then we'll take our right hand with our fingers and grab underneath the base of the occipital area. Keep sustained good posture; I want you to pull upwards and hold it up.

Next step, you start to turn your head towards the right armpit while keep pulling upwards. You'll feel that left occipital area is stretching. Now, you need to take your chin and flex it down into the right armpit and continue to pull upwards. By doing this, you'll feel that nice stretch in the sub-occipital area on the left side.

This particular stretch can help many neurological and orthopedic problems like headaches over the head behind the eyes, pain under the skull, or decrease mobility throughout the neck. It can help tinnitus also or even vertigo problem. These specific nerves that come underneath the occipital area affect many different areas in the head, face, and neck region. You should see great benefits by doing this technique regularly. You'll notice increased mobility, more freedom underneath the skull, and hopefully your symptoms will start to dissipate.
